Cremated Remains

After the cremation process, a decision must be made regarding the final disposition of the cremated remains. The most common choice is to scatter or bury the ashes in the Garden of Remembrance at the crematorium.

The scattering of ashes on ordinary land or in rivers is not explicitly regulated by law. However, it is important to note that obtaining consent is necessary when placing ashes on someone else’s land.

If you choose to scatter the ashes in your own garden, there are typically no legal issues involved. However, it is important to consider that you may relocate from that property in the future, so long-term planning and communication with future property owners is advised.

Storing

At Eco Funerals, we offer eco-friendly urns specifically designed for the storage of cremated remains. These urns are made from sustainable materials, aligning with our commitment to environmental consciousness.

In addition to urns, we can also arrange a unique keepsake for you to cherish the memory of your loved one. Our keepsakes come in the form of pendants or rings crafted from glass, which contain a small portion of the ashes. These personalised mementos provide a tangible connection and symbol of remembrance, allowing you to keep your loved one close to your heart.
